Great product...even for middle schoolersI bought this for one of my sixth grade students who has an extensive vocabulary, but a difficult time with spelling. The spell checker is able to figure out the words he types in even though they are often missing sounds/letters that you hear in the word. I thought he might think the look of it was babyish, but he actually loves it. It is much easier than using a dictionary to look up every word and seems to be motivating for him to have a cool gadget to use during lessons.
Stay away...from this JunkThis is a piece if junk. I have never written a review in my life but its so bad that I was forced to write this. I bought this for my son in 2nd grade and he can never find what he is looking for. I am going to buy another one for him now. Don't waste your money on this junk.
great tool for schoolI bought this speller for my 5th grade son for Christmas and it is terrific. Not only does it help with spelling but it also gives my son definitions of the words. Even my 2nd grader loves it. Totally worth the money. Sorry I didn't get it earlier!
Franklin KID-1240 Children's Talking Dictionary and Spell CorrectorI recently bought this Franklin KID-1240 Children's Talking Dictionary and Spell Corrector. The product is working great except it is consuming lot of Battery power (even without Voice support). Otherwise, it is working good.
Great for my Daughter!I bought this for my daughter, who has been slow to read, she is 7. It is a great product. She can read independantly and if she comes to a word she doesn't know she will type it in and the dictionary will say the word for her. We can also put in a list of words for her to learn and she can do games with those words and practice them. My three year old even learned how to type in his name! For the level she is at it is a great product. It is not a full Webster's dictonary and I didn't expect it to be. It does what I needed it to do. Tell her what the unknown word is she's reading, without me having to be with her every minute.
