I like it! Love Reading it!I have bought an Indian edition of this book and I just love it. I like reading it and do not necessarily use it for references. I suggest it to all and sundry. My friends bought Swan's pocket English usage after my recommendation.
good quality for a low priceI thought it would be different, but it has a lot of good explanations, to improve your English, it's very useful, with good tips and advices.
Good to buy at a bargain as I did.
WarningThis book is a disappointment unless you are on fast track to pass ESL exams like TOEFL- for this specific purpose it is very useful. However, I won't recommend it otherwise. Almost nothing in this book is explained. It is one of many grammar books on market that are based on memorization by rote rather than logic. There is no structure or organization; the entries are listed alphabetically.
The information on many entries is terse and don't list exceptions to the rules.
Many examples are basic: p.66 " "You are not the my uncle" is not correct", p.272 "In front of is the opposite of behind". An entire page is for the use of "dare".
